Canadian record producer and singer/songwriter Winston Hauschild has worked with over 40 artists and bands in Vancouver including Hannah Georgas, Hey Ocean!,  Nat Jay and David Blair.

With Winston Hauschild in the producer’s seat and Shawn Cole in the engineering and mixing seat, the team recently finished The Beat Stuff, a 5 song EP for Hannah Georgas who, shortly after, signed a management contract with “Upper Management” headed by “Parkside” Mike Renaud and Donald Tarlton.  Their work with Nat Jay helped her secure a licensing contract with locally shot TV show “Men In Trees” and Winston’s self-produced EP Limited was recorded, completely analogue, without using any digital devices -- no computers, no Pro Tools, not even a digital guitar tuner and released by Aquarius Records/EMI in 2007.

TAPE RECORDER

The device, successor to the MAGNETIC WIRE recorder, which since the 1940s (when it was called the sound mirror) has been the most commonly used means of storing and reproducing an AUDIO signal.

RESONANCE

When a system with a natural vibrating FREQUENCY is stimulated by an outside force of the same frequency, the system can be set in a motion called VIBRATION. As the frequency of the stimulus closely approaches that of the system, OSCILLATION occurs, which reaches a maximum AMPLITUDE at the natural resonant frequency.

WAVELENGTH

For any PERIODIC wave the wavelength is the distance from a given point in the wave to the corresponding point in the next cycle of the wave, frequently represented by the Greek letter lambda. It may also be thought of as the distance the sound travels in one CYCLE or PERIOD.

KUNSTKOPF

(German: artificial head). A STEREOPHONIC recording system developed in Germany which employs an artificial head sitting on a resonator similar to a chest cavity. The recording MICROPHONEs are situated within the head, inside an anatomically correct ear canal, at the point where the human eardrum is located. Artificial PINNAE are carefully designed for accurate reflection of the incoming sound in order to achieve the good front-back and height-depth perspective for which the technique is noted.
